Zaid Pervaiz Bhat is a highly skilled and motivated Deep Learning Engineer Intern at NVIDIA with a passion for machine learning and computer vision. He is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Computer Science at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. Zaid is available for full-time employment starting December 2022 and is an aspiring Machine Learning Architect who is currently leading several open-source efforts in Deep Learning with a focus on Video Action Recognition and Object Detection. Zaid's current role at NVIDIA involves working on the development and improvement of NVIDIA proprietary Object Detection architecture using transformer-based architectures for the Intelligent Video Analytics Group as part of the Metropolis AI Labs. In addition to his current role, Zaid has also worked as a Research Assistant at Texas A&M University, where he conducted research on Automated Machine Learning under Prof. Xia (Ben) Hu. He co-led the development of the “AutoVideo” package, which reduced human engineering efforts by up to 70% and achieved over 200 stars on github.com/datamllab/autovideo. Zaid also designed and implemented a drag-and-drop interface using Orange and PyQt frameworks to enable user-friendliness. Zaid's past experience includes working as a Research Assistant - Computer Vision (Intern) at KAUST, where he worked under the supervision of Prof. Peter Wonka in the Visual Computing Centre (VCC). He implemented an algorithm for GAN-Inversion using StyleGAN2 backbone to enable semantic image editing operations and enhanced image morphing by hierarchical optimization, MSE and perceptual loss, mean latent vector initialization. Zaid's education history includes a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from NIT Srinagar and a High School Diploma from Tyndale Biscoe School. He is expected to complete his Master of Science in Computer Science from Texas A&M University in December 2022.
